Indian National Cricket Team asserted their dominance over the mighty England cricket team by winning the Test series by 4-1. Not many gave India a chance to win the Test series after losing the 1st Test match. Kuldeep Yadav proved to be the silent assassin who took 19 wickets in 4 Test matches. Kuldeep Yadav was seen bowling to a particular gameplan and wasn’t afraid of giving an extra flight to the delivery.

Rohit Sharma made a massive statement that they can win even without the star players like Mohammed Shami (*injured) & Virat Kohli (*took a break from cricket). The duo of head coach Rahul Dravid & skipper Rohit Sharma have made sure that they give chances to the youngsters as one of the biggest positives for India undoubtedly was Sarfaraz Khan who was quite intrepid.

The big takeaway for me looking at Indian cricket in the long term point of view is India’s bowling- Sanjay Manjrekar’s take on Kuldeep Yadav

Sanjay Manjrekar was having an interaction with ESPNCricinfo and was quite impressed with India’s bowling performance

“The big takeaway for me looking at Indian cricket in the long-term point of view is India’s bowling. The arrival of Kuldeep Yadav, and Akash Deep in that last Test match. Now, when you look at the England batting failure and relentless pressure, when you have five bowlers of the likes of Bumrah, Akash Deep in the last Test, Siraj here, and then three spinners, where Kuldeep Yadav has made such rapid strides, there’s just no getaway for a team that has been struggling with consistent form,” said Sanjay Manjrekar.

Indian cricket team on a roll

We should not forget that India national cricket team performed exceedingly well in the absence of Mohammed Shami as well who was injured. It won’t be wrong to say that the fast bowling coach Paras Mhambrey brought the best out of the debutant Akash Deep and we should also give credit to NCA who are producing lethal fast bowlers.

The management along with BCCI will have to manage the workload of Bumrah & Siraj in IPL 2024 which is considered to be the stepping stone for ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which is slated to take place in June 2024 in Caribbean & USA. We should not forget that how India was crashed by England in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Semi Final under the leadership of Rohit Sharma and once again he is going to lead the side but this Test series may have brought the self belief back in the side that they can end the drought of an ICC tournament.
