It was a complete team effort from the Bangladesh team as they did it in some style they won the match by 6 runs. Skipper Shakib-Al-Hasan was quite instrumental in all the 3 departments of the game. It looked as if Shakib-Al-Hasan wanted to make a statement that Bangladesh cricket team is not a finished product.
India decided to test their bench strength against Bangladesh in the dead rubber of the Super 4 encounter they have made 5 changes in the team. India won the toss and chose to bowl. Bangladesh also made 5 changes.
Shakib Al Hasan seemed as if he was on a mission. We should not forget that this is the last competitive series for Shakib Al Hasan’s team before the ODI WC 2023 as the Black Caps who are due to face Bangladeshi Tigers have named a second string squad. Undoubtedly, this win against India would serve as a catalyst for Shakib Al Hasan’s side.
Bangladesh’s opening woes continue
Bangladesh’s opening worse continues they have tried different combinations but nothing is working at the moment which is a real concern for them.

Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy bring up 100 runs stand Shakib Al Hasan rescued his team with a brilliant 80 his partnership with Hridoy took Bangladesh out of trouble and recovered superbly it was all started by Hridoy as he took the attack.
As the Indian fielders also had a bad day at the office it’s an inconsequential game, they have dropped three catches with Tilak Varma, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav being the culprits. Same as in the game against Nepal India dropped 3 catches in that game too.

The drinks break does the trick again. Shakib’s first ball after the drinks break he tries to drive the ball and the bat somehow ends up in an awkward angle as he misread the Shardul delivery the ball hits the inside edge of Shakib’s bat and the ball hits the wicket.
Ravindra Jadeja picks up his 200th ODI wicket. Shamim was undone by a Jadeja delivery as he was caught in front of the wickets. He was given out by the on-field umpire but Shamim disagreed and went upstairs to review it, and the ball-tracking showed three reds.
Mohammed Shami was brought back into the attack he will probably bowl out his five overs from here on if all things go well. Hridoy who was batting well till now tried to pull the ball which was not short similar to the batters who tried to do before.
Hridoy was surprised by the pace and when he pulled it the ball hit the high on the bat and the ball went up high in the air and Tilak took a simple catch fantastic innings from Hridoy came to an end at 54 off 81 with 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Gem of an innings by Nasum. Nasum has raised his hand up and is playing a fantastic knock under the circumstances. As he scored 44 vital runs to guide Bangladesh to265-8. Nasum’s knock gave the momentum to the Bangladeshi Tigers.
Great start for Bangladesh with the ball
Just like Bangladesh India also lost their two wickets early. The Indian skipper tries to drive the ball without not a lot of foot movement and ends up giving a simple catch to Anamul. Joy for debutant Tanzim as he has got the big fish for a duck.
Tilak Varma who looked uncomfortable against Tanzum was eventually put out of his misery by the bowler. He expected the ball to move away however, the ball went straight and hit the off-stump. KL Rahul departs for 19 as he got a bit frustrated because of the lack of boundaries from his bat he was caught by Hossian
Suryakumar Yadav departs for 26 runs The batter kept sweeping Shakib almost every ball and in the end, it became too predictable Shakib Al Hasan being an experienced campaigner eventually cracked the code and got the length and pace right of the delivery which Suryakumar Yadav missed and was cleaned.
There was an exciting contest between Shakib Al Hasan & Suryakumar Yadav as in the end Shakib Al Hasan had the last laugh. Ravindra Jadeja departs for 7 his bad form continues he was cleaned up by Mustafizur.
India’s batters lacked mental application on an uneven track and perhaps they should have taken the game deep rather than playing fearlessly which backfired. India’s batting coach Vikram Rathour would be having a word with the batters after a dismal performance.
Star performer of the match
It’s clearly Shubman Gill for India since he scored a responsible century when wickets are falling like a pack of cards he stuck at one end and made sure India fought till the end as he went for a brilliant 121 off133 with 8 fours and 5 sixes. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan didn’t panic when Shubman Gill was smashing the bowlers and Shakib Al Hasan was seen having constant interactions with the bowlers and stood tall behind the bowling unit. Shakib Al Hasan used all the tricks and used attacking field placements to pressurize the batters.
Axar Patel steps up in the finisher role. He played one Off a short one, he went deep in his crease before dispatching a pull shot for a maximum. He has played a binder as he score42 vital runs but it went into vain. Axar Patel couldn’t take the team over the finish line after his bizarre shot selection in the 49th over.
