After a string of disappointing performances, David Warner‘s red ball career has come under scrutiny. The 36-year-old only managed 15 runs in three innings in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy before flying back  home due to an injury.

Bought in as his replacement up the order, Travis Head justified his role which made the matter worst for the opener, the veteran has now recovered and statements about his place in the team has been released.

“Fully in our plans for the World Test Championship”- Andrew McDonald

Speaking ahead of the serious Australian Head Coach Andrew McDonalds announced that Warner despite all the outside noises is the part of the green bags plan ahead.

“I think you work through that conversation, and how each player finishes is always different. Some want to go out in a certain way, and others are OK with potentially being dropped out of sides.” said Andrew McDonald

“But at the moment Dave’s fully in our plans for the World Test Championship, he’s coming back for the one-day series, he’s recovered from his injury there, so we’ll see Dave back in Australian colors on the 17th and we’ll go from there.” he added.

Change of format, change of fate?

After the longest form ended on a rather positive note for both the sides, the focus is now on the 50-over with the ODI World Cup in sight. The first big challenge in the preparation will be posed by the Australians now led by Steve Smith.

However, the Kangaroo camp is hit by injuries. Smith is visitors fourth captain in the last 5 ODIs, it started with Aaron Finch’s retirement followed by Pat Cummins return back home in the middle of the serious and injury of Josh Hazlewood. Jhye Richardson too will be absent due to a hamstring injury.

As for India Rohit Sharma will not be a part of the first encounter in Mumbai due to family reasons and the Men in Blue will be in the hands of all rounder Hardik Pandya.
