BCCI’s selection panel astonishingly rested Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma for the first 2 ODIs in order to manage the workload. This move can cost India as Australia would be eager to stamp their authority over Indian. Rohit Sharma was striking the ball cleanly as his presence would have been priceless.

Australia on the other hand got a reality check as the side lost the 5 match ODI series despite winning the first 2 matches. David Warner’s form was quite scratchy and perhaps he should try to bat deep as we all know that how dangerous he can be in the middle overs.

I feel it is important for the team to play together- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his You Tube channel and said that it is extremely important for the team to play together and continuously. Aakash Chopra was unhappy after the duo Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma were rested for the first 2 ODIs against Australia.

“I feel it is important for the team to play together and continuously at that. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened due to injury issues to players like KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah,” said Aakash Chopra.

“In between, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli rested a lot. They did not play in entire August. In fact, after the IPL, they haven’t played a lot. They played the WTC final. In the two Test matches (in West Indies), there were 6-8 days of cricket and nothing after that. From June till end of September, they have not played a lot of cricket. If they had played together, it would have been good. That’s my personal opinion,” he added.

Monumental task for India

Indian cricket team will have to play out of their skin to win ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, as the conditions are no longer alien for the likes of Australia, England, South Africa & New Zealand due to the inception of IPL

Rohit will have to use Shardul Thakur smartly as the pacer has the knack of breaking crucial partnerships. At the same time, he can also play a breezy cameo for the team at the lower order which can be a turning point. It looks like one of Mohammed Shami or Mohammed Siraj would be rotated in ODI WC 2023.
