Indian cricket team will have a new T20I skipper in the form of Suryakumar Yadav for the 5 T20I match series against  Australia commencing from 23rd November at Vizag. Suryakumar Yadav will have to bring his ‘A’ game against a formidable Aussie side who will be aiming for T20 glory after ODI success.

Cricket Australia (CA) surprisingly has named the star duo of Steve Smith & David Warner in the T20I squad even after a grueling ODI WC 2023. There have been talks going on that Steve Smith would open the batting as he had a decent BBL 2022-23.

All eyes will be on the batting maestro Rinku Singh who stole the limelight in IPL 2023 and now will have to play the role of finisher just like he did for KKR. Rinku Singh though would be tested as there’s quite a significant difference between IPL and international cricket.

We are excited about the series- Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav was having an interaction with the reporters ahead of the 1st T20I match against Australia. Suryakumar Yadav pointed out that he is someone who focuses on team goals rather than personal milestones and was quite excited about the series. Suryakumar stated that every player needs to be fearless in the approach.

“I think what I told them when I met them in the afternoon was let’s be very selfless when we go onto the field. I am a guy who doesn’t think much of personal milestones ahead of team goals. Hence, I told them to keep the team’s interests first, and then whatever comes after that, they can take their call,” said Suryakumar Yadav.

“I have played with them a lot of times during the IPL and a few India games and they know how I function, and it wasn’t that difficult to communicate my thoughts. We are excited about the series,” he stated.

“I think keeping the T20 World Cup in mind, the games we play till then are very important. My message to them was very clear: just be fearless and do whatever it takes to help the team. They have been doing all this in the IPL and have played a lot of domestic cricket recently,” he added.

“They are in good form as I have heard from our support staff. I told them only one thing – enjoy your time in the middle, do the same things, and don’t try to do something different,” he concluded.
