The recent approach or rather the newfound love for sweep shots has fallen hard on the shoulders of the Australian team. As a result of another batting failure in Delhi, the visitors are trailing 2-0 in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Series. Rohit Sharma has looked like a man on a mission where he has taken time before going berserk.

Whereas things look quite the opposite in the Indian camp brilliantly led by Rohit Sharma, who currently leads the run chart with 183 runs in two matches, averaging 61 including a century (120 runs) in Nagpur. So is there a way the Aussies can learn from the Indian skipper? The Australian legend certainly thinks so.

“Not really possible to bat exactly like how he has been doing”-Michael Hussey

The Former Australian batter Michael Hussey has urged the team to pick up some pointers from Rohit’s batting to find a way to tackle spin.

Obviously, the Australians can take a leaf out of Rohit Sharma’s book and have a look at the way he has batted so far. The way Rohit has gone about his job is certainly a good way to tackle spin and score runs in such conditions.”  Michael Hussey told The Telegraph.

“The Indian batsmen have grown up playing on such pitches and so are more used to them. But it’s not really possible to bat exactly like how he has been doing. For instance, I couldn’t bat like Matthew Hayden. Batsmen need to focus on their strengths and the strokes that yield them runs instead of everyone trying one particular shot.” he added.

Change of Plans for Australia

The upcoming test in Indore will see an array of changes, many forced than performance-based in the Australian Team. While figuring out a suitable batting plan was already a gnawing issue, veteran opener David Warner has returned back home, having been ruled out for the rest of the series due to an elbow blow in the 2nd Test followed by captain Pat Cummins who too will skip the 3rd encounter citing a family emergency.

While all-rounder Cameron Green is fit again to join the team and Mitchell Starc will be the most likely replacement for Cummins in the pace department. As far captaincy goes, Steven Smith will hold his previous position for the time being.
