The dashing batter Shreyas Iyer would be keen to grab the eyeballs of the selection panel after missing the Asia Cup 2023 due to back spasm. Shreyas Iyer is tipped to be the next big thing in cricket as he is someone who can take the team out of muddle which is priceless in the modern cricket.

Head coach Rahul Dravid & skipper KL Rahul (*interim skipper for first two matches) might give another game to the swashbuckling left handed Tilak Varma who has shown his worth in the domestic arena. All eyes will be on Suryakumar Yadav who didn’t make a significant score against Bangladesh cricket team in Asia Cup 2023.

A big opportunity for Shreyas Iyer- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his You Tube channel. Aakash Chopra pointed out the Australian series is a good opportunity for the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma. Aakash Chopra hinted that there would be a change in the ODI WC 2023 squad as the deadline of submitting the final squad is 27th September.

“The series against Australia is a significant opportunity for Ruturaj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma as well, if he gets a chance. It’s also a big opportunity for Shreyas Iyer, who did not play the Asia Cup final. There is still time as teams can make changes to their World Cup squad till September 27. A lot will depend on the first two ODIs,”  said Aakash Chopra.

Great chance for Australia

The injury to Travis Head has opened the doors for Marnus Labuschagne as the batter looks sturdy in his approach and has got a perfect gameplan which is required in ODI circuit.  Labuschagne though will have to play a bit more aggressively in the middle overs phase.

Mitchell Marsh is expected to open the batting with David Warner. Marsh in the last couple of years can be seen decimating the bowlers and has got a wide range of shots which allows him to play fearlessly. The duo of David Warner & Mitchell Marsh would be quite deadly in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
