IND vs AFG: Rohit Sharma’s Record Breaking Century Guides India To A Commanding Victory

Rohit Sharma‘s record-breaking century and a half-century from King Kohli guided India to a commanding victory over Afghanistan they chased the target of 273 inside 35 overs and won by 8 wickets. Rohit Sharma seemed batting on a different surface as  his attacking instincts dismantled Afghanistan’s bowling lineup

Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and elected to bat on a hot afternoon in New Delhi. India made one change to their side from the previous game as they dropped off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and brought in seam-bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur. India got to a good start with 3 quick wickets, Indian seamers on good batting wicket. Shardul Thakur took a very good catch on the boundary to dismiss Gurbaz.

Omarzai-Shahidi’s century stand

Omarzai and Shahidi rescued Afghanistan with some attacking intent and showed great composure as they tackled the spinners well the duo put on a partnership of 121 runs for the fourth wicket. Omarzai scored a brilliant half-century before departing for 62 runs off 69 with 2 fours and 4 sixes.

The skipper Shahidi played a responsible knock as he scored a fantastic half-century he made 80 off 88  balls with 8 fours and a six. To guide Afghanistan to a respectful total of 272 for 8 in their 50 overs. Bumrah was the star for India with the ball with the best bowling figures of 4 for 39 in his 10 overs.

Birthday boy Hardik Pandya picked up 2 vital wickets as he finished with 2 for 43 in his 7 overs. he is the one who broke the partnership. India got off to a fantastic start as Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan made their bat-talking after departing for a golden duck in the opening encounter against Australia scoring  94 runs in the power play.

Rohit Sharma is back in beast form as he breaks Sachin’s record for most hundreds in the World Cup as he scored his fastest one-day International century and also his 7th century in the World Cup He departed after scoring a brilliant 131 runs in just  84 balls with 16 fours and 5 sixes at the strike rate of 156.95.

Ishan Kishan too played a perfect supporting hand to his captain as he scored run a ball   47 with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Virat Kohli scored a fabulous half-century as he finished with 55 off 56  6 fours he guided India to victory along with Shreyas Iyer to victory at home. Rashid Khan is the only wicket-taker for Afghanistan as he finished with 2 for 57  in his 8 overs.
