Chasing 199, Martin Guptill and Johnson Charles opened an innings for Sharjah Warriors scored a quick 40 and 57 runs respectively. Both players looking good scored 90 in the first 10 overs but then Guptill got out. This triggered a slight collapse and the wickets started to tumble. The middle order failed to keep up with the required rate resulting a defeat by a margin of 31 runs to the Sharjah Warriors.
Dubai Capitals vs MI Emirates
Dubai Capitals to take on MI Emirates to kick off their ILT20 campaign this season. Both teams last met in the eliminator last season, where MI Emirates defeated Capitals to progress through to Qualifier 2.
Delhi Capitals won both the league matches comfortably but faltered when it mattered in the eliminator. David Warner, recently sworn in as captain of the Dubai Capitals, will be leading the charge this season with a pretty new side. Only Rovman Powell, Sikandar Raza and Dasun Shanaka remain from last year’s squad.
MI Emirates won five out of 10 matches last season, securing the third position at the end of the league stage. However, their campaign concluded in the second qualifier against the Gulf Giants, where they lost after scoring 167 runs. Nicholas Pooran will take in charge for the MI Emirates.
