The South African Batter-wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen declared his International cricket retirement through his Instagram handle on 2nd June. Heinrich Klaasen had already retired early from the Test match. Now he departed from the white ball arena as well.
Heinrich Klaasen reveals the reason behind his retirement
In his cricket career, the South African batter played over 60 matches in a day. He also played in 4 Test matches and 58 T20 matches. Klaasen was known for his aggressive batting style against his opponents. Heinrich Klaasen overall scored over 103 runs in Test, 2141 runs in one-day matches and 1000 runs in T20.
Heinrich Klaasen’s International cricket journey started against India in a Day International match on February 7, 2018. Since then, he has honed himself in ODI till now. However, his resignation from international cricket may affect the South Africa team. The team lost a great pillar of winning.
Although the 3o year old batter shared his reason behind his early retirement from the cricket ground. Due to the head coach of South Africa, Rob Walter, resigning made the batter decided to leave the International ground, as per his opinion. He stated,
“I felt for a long time that I didn’t care about any of my performances and whether the team won or not. That’s the wrong place to be. I had a long conversation with Rob [Walter] before the Champions Trophy, and I told him I didn’t feel good in my heart about what was going on. I wasn’t enjoying it that much.”
Klaasen also told Rapport in an interview about his intention to play till the World Cup 2027. He had a contract with Cricket South Africa. However, CSA [Cricket South Africa] stepped down without fulfilling promises as per the contract. And it made the Proteas batter make a decision easier. On this particular issue, he said,
“We talked nicely, we planned everything nicely up to and including the World Cup in 2027. So when he finished as coach and the [contract] negotiations [with CSA] didn’t go as planned, it made my decision a lot easier.”

The South African Batter revealed his desire to spend some moments with his friends and family. Klaasen said,
“Now I can spend six, seven months at home. My family needs it, it’s been a long four years with a lot of travel. I need a little rest.”
As opposed to being a part of International cricket, he was also a part of the IPL. He played more than 49 IPL matches in his professional career. Presently, he has been spotted with the Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. He is famous for his enraged centuries and six hits. Heinrich Klaasen scored more than 487 runs this season.
