The Cricketer-turned- Commentator Sourav Ganguly wishes to see Hardik Pandya in the next Test series. Sourav Ganguly opines that Hardik Pandya will be a great fit for the Test side, especially in conditions like England. He believes that India has a lot of talented players that could be an integral part of the red-ball team.

The talismanic all-rounder Hardik Pandya has played 11 matches and made 532 runs with a batting average of 31.3, he has smashed one century and four half-centuries, depicting his success in the Test format. He also has 17 wickets to his name, which includes a five-wicket haul against England.

Sourav Ganguly claimed that India shouldn’t panic after their loss against Australia and lose hopes in Veteran players like Cheteshwar Pujara or Virat Kohli. He stated while speaking to Sports Today:

“And I hope Hardik Pandya is listening. I want to see him play Test Cricket, especially in these conditions as well,” said Sourav Ganguly.

“Let’s not come to conclusion with just one loss. India will always have talent. I don’t think it’s time to look beyond a Virat (Kohli) or Pujara. Virat is just 34.” he added.

“In Domestic Cricket There Are Some Fantastic Players And You Will Find Out When You Give Them Opportunity”- Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly also mentioned that there are top-class players in domestic cricket as well, who have done exceptionally well. He suggested that those players must be given opportunities to prove their worth at the highest level as well.

“In domestic cricket there are some fantastic players and you will only find out when you give them the opportunity. Whether it’s a Yashasvi Jaiswal or Rajat Patidar. There is Abhimanyu Easwaran from Bengal who has scored a lot of runs. Shubhman Gill is Young.” said Sourav Ganguly.

India are set to tour West Indies in July and August for a multi-format series. It is expected that the national selectors will give chances to some new faces for the assignment.
