ICC T20 World Cup 2024: “You’ve Got 5 Tournaments”- Ahmed Shehzad Openly Challenges Babar Azam To Win The T20 World Cup 2024 For Pakistan

Pakistan will commence their campaign on June 6 against the USA. Recently, they lost the T20I series against England there are many things that Pakistan needs to work on, but recent performances raise signs of concern that Pakistan is lacking in many areas and so they need to rectify it. Pakistan had played in the finals against England in the 2022 T20 World Cup and remained runners-up. Later Pakistan was knocked out of the World Cup 2023 and then Babar Azam resigned from the captaincy and many such events happened.

Ahmed Shehzad challenges Babar Azam

Former Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad challenges Babar Azam to win the T20 World Cup and also adds that he only has 5 tournaments left in his career which will decide his captaincy. Pakistan has lost its form after the England series and it has been a difficult phase for them to gear up for big events like the T20 World Cup. Management expects more from them to perform well on the big stage but discipline and cooperation such qualities should be maintained first while team-building. Ahmed Shehzad says:

“It will be morning if I start talking about their (Pakistan cricketers) discipline. But we have never said anything to anybody, but we surely talk about cricket. If you say you are a prime player, if you say no one is bigger than you, then win the World Cup. You’ve got five tournaments. And the way they are taking these things, we have to tell everybody.”

Pakistan have played like amateurs in recent days and so they need to perform beyond expectations if they want to win this World Cup. Pakistan was the champion in 2009 under the leadership of Shahid Afridi.
