Sourav Ganguly shared an Instagram post and Anand Mahindra took to X to show their reactions to thousands gathering at Marine Drive to salute Team India. The overwhelming response of Mumbaikars to cheer for the ‘Men in Blue’ during Thursday’s victory parade was a mere glimpse of the emotions of billions of Indians who could not make it to the metro city.

If you are on social media it is highly unlikely that you haven’t seen the visuals showing thousands of fans gathered at Mumbai’s Marine Drive to welcome Team India as they return home with the T20 World Cup trophy. The victory parade has no doubt captured the attention of many, including former BCCI President and cricket legend Sourav Ganguly and business tycoon Anand Mahindra.

The victory parade has captivated the nation, drawing reactions from prominent figures such as former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and business tycoon Anand Mahindra, who expressed their admiration on social media.

The jubilant crowd, filled with fervor and national pride, lined the streets of Marine Drive, waiting for hours to catch a glimpse of their cricketing heroes. In an Instagram post, Sourav Ganguly regarded the unfathomable love of Indians for the ‘Men in Blue’ as the striking difference between Indian cricket and the rest of the world.

Sourav Ganguly took to Instagram and wrote, “This is what makes Indian cricket apart from the rest. The players deserve every bit of this for what they have achieved… so proud of each and every individual.”

Accompanying his heartfelt message, Ganguly posted two photos. The first captured the massive crowd gathered at Marine Drive, while the second depicted a collage of the players arriving with the coveted T20 World Cup trophy.

Several other users  expressed the same notion, calling him the “architect” who helped the Indian Team pave the way for a win. During Ganguly’s stint as BCCI President, Rahul Dravid was convinced to take over as the head coach of the Indian team.

On Instagram, one user responded to Sourav Ganguly’s post with,

“Yes, sir, and we all know without you, it was not possible.” Many others shared this sentiment, calling him the “architect” behind the Indian Team’s success. They acknowledged Ganguly’s pivotal role during his tenure as BCCI President, when he convinced Rahul Dravid to take on the role of head coach for the team.

Another user wrote, “Dada this credit goes to you as well, who convinced and appointed Our Rahul Dravid as Indian coach to witness this…”

Sourav Ganguly as a key member of BCCI  was a key pioneer while appointing Rahul Dravid as the Indian coach for the first time in 2021 and also has captained him as a player in several memorable Indian victories. The victory parade once again gave us the testament that all the sweet victories are accepted by cheerful hands all across India and Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli couldn’t would have asked for such a fairytale ending to their T20I careers.
