The saga of selecting players and making playing XI is the hot topic currently going in cricket just a month left to begin the ICC MEN’S T20 WORLD CUP experts and analysts are making their speculations whom to include? whom to exclude? etc. This IPL’s season has shown some different kind of cricket by scoring ample of runs, attacking approach, etc. Selectors have stuck in between and can’t decide whom to select.
Simon Doull excludes Hardik Pandya and Sanju Samson from his squad
Since all experts are speculating and trying to create their squads so Former Kiwi player now turned commentator Simon Doull has excluded Hardik Pandya and Sanju Samson from his squad. He opined that despite having Sanju’s form he don’t want him in the squad. Considering a power hitter he picks south paw batsmen Shivam Dube over Sanju Samson who is currently in red hot form and will definitely make in the squad.
If Virat opens with Rohit a strong left handed batsmen should make at No.3 so that he can pull off the situation and can score runs. Rishabh Pant who made a solid comeback Doull considers him to bat at N0.4 who have strong arm and can hit powerful shots. Rishabh Pant who his the first choice wicket-keeper will make in the squad. Shivam Dube who is firing runs with bat should roll his arm too because Hardik Pandya who is facing a purple patch in ongoing Ipl may not able to make place in the squad, till now he has scored 197 runs and picked just 4 wickets.
Sanju Samson who is in form but Doull has overlooked him and considered Rishabh over him. Rinku Singh who is also one of the power hitters can also make in the squad and considering his form his role will be finishing the games. Doull says:
“I have flipped and flopped a lot about this, but I want Rishabh Pant at No. 3 because I can’t see fitting the other players in without my keeper batting at No. 3. Also, I wanted a left-hander followed by two righties. I looked at the squad the other night and noticed that T20I is not his best format, but I feel he is evolving. I watched him through this tournament and his fitness is back to where he wanted to be before this tournament,” he explained.
Final call will be of selectors whom to pick and whom to exclude? will get to know on May 1.
