Jake Fraser-McGurk has undeniably been a sensation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Delhi Capitals (DC) decided to introduce the 22-year-old star when the DC were struggling below in the points table. In exchange, the unstoppable Australian batter triumphed with fancy hits, scoring the fastest fifty for the Delhi Capitals (DC).

Many were convinced that Jake Fraser-McGurk has proven himself to make it to the T20 Australian squad through his mesmerizing batting display. But he missed his spot in the Australian squad as the Australian selection committee already announced the squad list last week.

Jake Fraser-McGurk has taken IPL by storm- Mitchell Marsh

Mitchell Marsh, Australian T20 skipper had to leave the DC camp ahead due to an injury. Following that, he shed light on the young batter’s exclusion and further mentioned that David Warner and Travis Head were already on the verge of taking the spots ahead of the uncrowned Jake Fraser-McGurk.

On Australian radio station SEN, Marsh mentioned that “Jakey is an outstanding talent.”

“I think you know the way he’s taking on the IPL, he’s taken it by storm, they’re all loving him, and certainly, the Delhi crew are enjoying his company and enjoying what he brings to the team and there’s no doubt that he’s going to have a huge future, wherever he plays,” he stated.

“But we feel like we’ve got all bases covered within our team. Heady and David Warner have been fantastic for us, not only for a long period of time but over the last 18 months building towards this (T20) World Cup,” he added.

Marsh also went on to say that “We’re really comfortable that we’ve got the right 15, to hopefully take us deep into the (T20) World Cup,”

Australian sensation Fraser-McGurk snubbed off the ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Jake Fraser-McGurk possesses an astonishing strike rate of an average of 233.33. He has already registered three fifties for Delhi Capitals (DC). He already bagged 259 runs in this tournament, where half of the runs he achieved came from sixes. He’s the sixth batter in this tournament to smash the most sixes from only six innings.

Marsh was simply astounded by Fraser’s batting display and is expecting to see him play for his country sooner or later.

“He’s come along pretty quickly. There’s been a huge amount of talent that’s been identified from a young age,” Marsh said.

“We saw a glimpse of it throughout the (domestic) Big Bash this year and you know that the IPL is a tough tournament. You can’t take a backward step and that’s certainly the way he plays his cricket and he’s got an exciting future,” he added.
