ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 South Africa lost the final by 7 runs it hurt every player as they too were unbeaten and were in the race of winning World Cup. Aiden Markram and Co were in strong position from starting till end but India snatched the victory from them after Klaassen’s dismissal.
South Africa was playing their first ever ICC final and were too much hungry to win that cup. South Africa remained always a strong team whether its batting, bowling or fielding they soak their 100% in that and make the country proud.
Graeme Smith lauds Aiden Markram
Aiden Markram led team very well and took team to the final but remained as runners-up. South Africa was very different compared to other ICC tournaments and they evolved as a team and they showed the spirit of doing something. Former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith lauds Aiden Markram for his extensive support and for leading from the front and took to the final bound. Graeme Smith said:
“Aiden was particularly good during the tournament. He was tactically astute, had good plans and was brave enough to make the big calls and then get all his players to commit to it”
“We have od course, seen Aiden captain in this manner before over the course of the pass two SA20 seasons, leading the Sunrisers Eastern Cape to back-to-back championship titles, but now he has transferred this experiences to the international arena.”

Aiden Markram has shown how aggressive and mindful cricket can be played match against Nepal they almost on the losing side but Ottneil Baartman played wisely and with calm and composed way he bowled the last over even on last ball Nepal needed 2 runs batter missed the ball and ran but on the second attempt David Miller got the chance and hit the stumps, so this kind of character shows how they are hungry and never lose hope. Maybe next time South Africa can come with same intent and could clinch the trophy.
