There is a lot of uncertainty regarding the participation of Rohit Sharma for T20 WC 2024. Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli opted out of South Africa’s white ball leg series. Rohit & Virat haven’t played any T20I match since the exit from T20 WC 2022 and ever since that Hardik Pandya has been leading the side in the shortest format.

There is no doubt that Rohit & Virat’s experience would come handy in tricky conditions of Caribbean as the pitches are quite competitive. We should not forget that Virat & Rohit have a very good understanding and are always seen discussing the strategy for the opposition teams.

Since the T20 WC 2024 is scheduled in June 2024, the IPL 2024 becomes a stepping stone for all the Indian as well as overseas players which would make the competition more intense and riveting. Rohit’s future as the skipper of Indian cricket team will also depend on how Mumbai Indians (MI) performs in the league

I don’t think that Rohit Sharma has said that he is done- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his YouTube channel. Aakash Chopra said that Ruturaj Gaikwad & Shubman Gill both the batters are in the same league. Surprisingly, Aakash Chopra picked Yashasvi Jaiswal as the opening partner for Rohit Sharma for T20 WC 2024.

“I don’t think that will happen, because if you talk about Gill, you will have to take Ruturaj’s name in the same breath. He also bats similarly – cautiously, elegantly and has the ability to play long knocks. Then you can keep Ruturaj, but I feel neither Ruturaj nor Shubman Gill,” said Aakash Chopra.

“If Yashasvi is at one end, Rohit Sharma at the other end, because I feel Rohit Sharma will be seen playing. I don’t think he has said that he is done. (Rahul) Dravid’s extension and India doing very well in the World Cup, barring the final, and Rohit playing in that fashion – I think it’s a done deal,” he stated.

“A lot of people say that I don’t like Rutu. I like a batter like him with closed eyes because he plays clean. How can I not like a technically compact player? Rutu plays well but Rohit Sharma is there, and I don’t see any other right-handed batter being there until he is there,” he added.
