BCCI’s selection panel astoundingly once again have ignored the sly spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for the Australia ODI series as well as for the ODI WC 2023. The duo of Kuldeep Yadav & Yuzvendra Chahal would have made the batters dance on their tone in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Head coach Rahul Dravid would be aware of the fact that they can’t take Australia lightly. We all witnessed how the mighty South African national cricket team won the ODI series by 3-2 and shook the world cricket. Aussies become quite lethal when they suffer huge defeats and with all senior players coming back into the setup, we can expect a cracker of a series before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

“I would like to bring Yuzvendra Chahal instead of any other player. He is a proven player, a match-winner. He was the one who was missed in the tournament,” said Harbhajan Singh
Questionable selection
Ravichandran Ashwin’s inclusion in the Australia ODI series is quite baffling. The right am-off spinner hasn’t played ODI cricket since more than one year. There is no doubt that Ashwin is a big match player but why the Ajit Agarkar led selection panel is blatantly ignoring Yuzvendra Chahal who can provide variety to the attack and at the same time can also bowl at the death overs.
India have got a quality bowling line up in the form of Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj & Mohammed Shami. It won’t be wrong to say that these bunch of fast bowlers can give nightmares to the batters even on a flat surface. The management though will have to manage the workload of Mohammed Siraj as the side can’t afford to lose a player when the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is just steps away.
