Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will have a steep task in front of him when Australia would lock horns against the mighty India. Rohit Sharma has had a prolific ICC ODI WC 2023 and would be keen to make the most of the purple patch in a crunch match.

Indian cricket team will have a golden chance to stamp their authority against Australia as there are chances that the surface might be a rank turner and the possibility of Ravichandran Ashwin playing the contest can’t be ruled out given his batting prowess and the ability to fox the batters with shrewd variations.

It seems unlikely though that the management would make changes to the combination in a do or die match. Skipper Rohit Sharma has been magnificent in leading the side as his attacking tactics have made life harder for the batters. He along with Virat Kohli can be seen having animated conversations on the field throughout the match.

Opportunity is there for everyone- Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma was seen in the press conference before the match against Australia and made a huge statement that not a single player’s place in the team is fixed and said that anyone can play in the final. Rohit Sharma was aware of the Australian challenge and pointed out that winning 8 matches on the bounce is not a fluke by any means in the tournament.

“We haven’t decided anything. All 15 can play. Opportunity is there for everyone, and we will assess the pitch tomorrow, and 12 to 13 are ready to play. We haven’t decided on 11. I want every player to be ready,” said Rohit Sharma.

“There was no grass on that wicket but this has a bit of grass on it. The wicket from India vs Pakistan was a lot drier. I still haven’t looked at the wicket today. But from my understanding, it’s going to be on a slower side. We’ll see the pitch tomorrow and assess. The temperature has dropped a bit as well,” he stated

“I don’t know how much of a factor the dew will be because in that Pakistan game there was a lot of dew during training but not on match day. Same happened at Wankhede where there was dew one day before but not during the semis. I don’t think the toss will play a big role,” he added.

“They have won their last eight matches and they played really well. So, it’s going to be a good contest. Both teams deserve to be at this stage, playing the finals. And we do understand the importance of what Australia can do,” he concluded.
