Indian cricket team’s star batter Virat Kohli was in sublime touch against Bangladesh, when he struck a breath taking ton. Virat Kohli now has 48 ODI tons to his name and is only 1 century behind the legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar who has 49 tons in the ODI circuit.
Virat Kohli seemed in complete control during the run chase as the batter was quite keen on rotating the strike. During the partnership with KL Rahul, the batter was quite quick between the wickets as the duo displayed good communication as there was a lot of noise around the stadium.

Sunil Gavaskar was having an interaction with Star Sports post the match and was quite furious on Shreyas Iyer & Shubman Gill for not converting their starts into a big score against the challenging Bangladesh cricket team. Sunil Gavaskar pointed out that Virat Kohli makes the bowling unit work hard for his wicket unlike other batters.
“He (Shreyas Iyer) lost his patience. He was batting on 19, threw his wicket away. Shubman Gill (was batting on) fifty (53), threw his wicket away. You need to know how to get to a hundred and it’s important for Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill,” said Sunil Gavaskar.
“Shubman Gill is at least getting hundreds, Shreyas Iyer is not getting hundreds. He is getting his opportunities to bat at number 4 on pitches as good as these and attacks as toothless as this and he is throwing away the opportunity,” he stated.
“Kohli never does that. Kohli will seldom ever throw his wicket away. He makes you earn his wicket. And that is exactly what you need. When he got to 70-80, realizing that he has an opportunity to get to a hundred and why not? Hundreds don’t come everyday,” he added.
