Australian cricket team would be eyeing revenge for their 2019 ODI WC defeat against India; at the same time, the mighty Aussies also lost the recently concluded India vs Australia ODI series by 1-2. All eyes will be on Marnus Labuschagne who made the cut for the ODI squad at the 11th hour. Marnus Labuschagne came into the squad in the place of the injured Ashton Agar.

The peculiarity of Australia is that they have got a lot of match winners present in the form of Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Cameron Green & Mitchell Marsh as one of them can easily take the team over the finish line with their batting prowess.

Australia though will have to be smart against spinners in the middle overs phase as the likes of Kuldeep & Ashwin can spurn a web across the batters. It would be interesting to see whether the old pair of Jadeja & Ashwin reunite for the high voltage clash against Australia on 8th October at Chennai.

Steve Smith & Marnus Labuschagne are both ridiculously highly skilled- Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch was having an interaction with the Sydney Morning Herald. Aaron Finch heaped praise on Steve Smith & Marnus Labuschagne and stated that the duo are touch players and skillful at using their hands and are more concerned on smashing boundaries.

“Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne are both ridiculously high-skilled. All it is is changing that mindset slightly away from ‘Right, I’m top four, I’ve got to get a big hundred to have an impact on the game,’’ said Aaron Finch.

“Sometimes it isn’t the big hundred, sometimes it’s the intent you show at the start of the innings that gets you to 25 off 20 balls continues that momentum and makes it easier on the next guy coming in, makes it easier on your partner at the other end who might be going as well. So it’s just a mindset shift in that way,” he stated.

“When you’ve got guys as skilled as them, they can do that easily. It’s important when you’ve got players like that who aren’t all-out brute force, they’re touch players, skillful at using their hands, that they don’t try to compete with guys who have a higher dot ball percentage but hit more fours and sixes to make up for it. It’s just about doing your job slightly differently to the way other guys do it and embracing that,” he added.
