ICC Champions Trophy 2025: PCB Awaits BCCI’s Consent For India vs Pakistan Clash In Lahore

As T20 World Cup 2024 concludes and India crowned as champions but now all eyes are on now Champions trophy 2025 which will be held in Pakistan. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has proposed a schedule regarding that. As per reports it suggests that India and Pakistan match will be held in Lahore on March 1 and India will play all their matches in Lahore itself.

PCB is waiting for BCCI’s consent

So its official that Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan but main concern is that whether India will travel to Pakistan or else it will be held in hybrid model. As per reports it has suggested that India will play all their matches in Lahore itself and India vs Pakistan is scheduled on March 1, 2025. So, in the end its BCCI who will give their final verdict and then things will as per scheduled. One ICC Member said:

 “The PCB has submitted the draft of the 15-match ICC Champions Trophy. Seven games in Lahore, three in Karachi and five in Rawalpindi,” an ICC Board member said.

“The opening match will be held in Karachi with two semifinals in Karachi and Rawalpindi, final in Lahore. All India matches (including semifinal if the team qualifies) in Lahore,” the source added. India have been clubbed with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand in Group A. Group B comprises Australia, South Africa, England and Afghanistan.

Further some sources have added:

“All board chiefs of the ICC Champions Trophy participating countries (minus BCCI) have assured him of their complete support but BCCI will consult its government and update the ICC,” the source added. 

Let’s see how things will move on and whether BCCI will give green signal or else it will be played in Hybrid model or India may exclude themselves from Champions trophy?
