ENG vs NZ: Rachin Ravindra And Devon Conway Smashed England’s Bowlers Away For An Easy Win

Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra made light work of below par target of 283 set by the defending Champion England as they chased down the target in just 36.2 overs. They won by 9 wickets and more than 13 overs to spare. Rachin Ravindra seemed to bat on a different surface as his wide range of shorts took the Britishers by surprise.

New Zealand won the one-sided World Cup opener it’s a forgettable match for England as their bowling unit is taken to the cleaners they took just one wicket in the form of Sam Curran taking the opening breakthrough for England which remains the only wicket to fall for the New Zealand.

The World Cup Carnival begins as the defending champions England and runner-up New Zealand of the last World Cup face each other in the opener. Stand-in skipper Tom Latham has won the toss, and New Zealand have opted to bowl first in the tournament opener against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It’s a balanced start from both teams as New Zealand bowlers showed discipline in their bowling and steady batting from England.

New Zealand bowlers showed tremendous discipline in their line and length right from the first ball of the game especially Henry and Santner showed great composure as Henry kept asking questions in the batsman’s mind.

Henry finished with the figures of  3 for 48 in his 10 overs. Santner too used all his experience and finished with the figures of 2 for 37 in his quota of 10 overs. Glenn Phillips rolled his arm over and picked up two vital wickets of Joe Root and Moen Ali he bowled  3 overs for 17 runs.

Joe Root scored a brilliant 77 off 86 balls with 4 fours and a six and shared an important partnership of  70 runs with his captain Jos Buttler to propel England to 282 for 9 in 50 overs. Boult also took a wicket at a vital point of the game to make sure England scored below par score.

A new hero has emerged for New Zealand in the form of Rachin Ravindra who came as a replacement for Kane Williamson on his debut and did some fantastic batting on a big stage coming in at just 10 runs on the board he showed great maturity and composure in his approach he got to his maiden century he is the youngest to hit a ton for New Zealand in the world cup. He remains not out on 123 off just 96 deliveries with 11 fours and five sixes.

Devon Conway just used all his IPL experience and tackled the English bowlers with ease and he also guided Rachin Ravindra as the duo put on a record-breaking partnership of 273 unbeaten for the second wicket.

Conway completed his maiden century in the mega event his love towards India and the Indian condition continued single-handedly got New Zealand home as he crafted his innings superbly did not give any chance to the England bowlers as Conway carried his bat with the sensational 152. With 19 fours and 3 sixes.
