England’s star pacer Jofra Archer‘s elbow injury has been bothering him for the last 3 years. Jofra Archer & England Cricket Board (ECB) are trying their best to resolve the elbow issue but there has been no significant improvement as the pacer is playing hardly and then immediately getting injured.

England will have to find a replacement for Jofra Archer and perhaps try to groom another fast bowler as there are multiple ICC events aligned in the next couple of years. Mark Wood can be a like-for-like replacement who not only has got sheer pace but has shown good control too.

England will be desperate to look after him- Nasser Hussain

Nasser Hussain was having an interaction with Sky Sports and stated that it is quite frustrating to see Jofra  Archer getting injured again & again. There are chances that Jofra Archer may be fit & available for selection for ODI WC 2023 but there is uncertainty regarding that.

“It’s hugely worrying for any cricketer. You don’t want a recurring nature of an injury, especially a bowler and especially this lad. He is such a rare talent, an absolute gem. Even in the cricket we did see at Sussex last week, the ball he got Crawley out with was phenomenal,” said Nasser Hussain.

“England will be desperate to look after him and get him right for that T20 World Cup and then, obviously, The Ashes. He can do things other bowlers can’t – as long as he is fit. He needs to be fit,” he added.

New Zealand a team to beat

The Black Caps are without their skipper Kane Williamson who is still nursing injury but in the recent past had shown good improvement. The interim skipper Tom Latham will have to make sure that his natural game doesn’t get affected with the captaincy.

All eyes will be on Trent Boult who would be marking a return to national team after refusing the central contract. The lanky pacer Kyle Jamieson can make a strong case for himself ahead of the marquee ODI WC as the squad for the competition is yet to be announced by New Zealand cricket  (NZC).
