The former India wicket-keeper and commentator Dinesh Karthik has made a huge remark on Jasprit Bumrah for his big contribution to Indian cricket. Kartik has compared Jasprit Bumrah to the Kohinoor Diamond as invaluable. Jasprit Bumrah took a 5 wicket haul in 1st innings and Shubman Gill would be hoping for a similar performance in 2nd innings as well.

In the 1st Test against England, the young guns of the India team have scored 471 runs due to Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant’s hundreds in their first innings. Meanwhile, England managed only 465 runs.
Referring to Bumrah, the commentator Kartik likened him as precious as the Kohinoor diamond. He also mentioned how Bumrah would sort out with any ball somehow by saying that,
“He is as valuable as a Kohinoor diamond, and I hope people realise how important he is to the Indian bowling attack across formats because you give him any ball. I just made an Instagram reel on how across phases, old ball, new ball, white ball, any ball you give him—pink ball, green ball, I don’t know what ball you can give him—he will make it work,”
“He’s got an immense skill set, but more importantly, he’s got a brain that ticks, that knows what a batsman is trying to do and how I am going to pick up his wicket, and he’s got that wired quite nicely. He’s got it all. For any bowler in the history of the game who has picked up 200 wickets, he’s number one with the average, which tells you that he is something very special,” he added.
Jasprit Bumrah in the form of his life
Jasprit Bumrah is one of the fastest pacers in India and is also labelled as in Asia. In his Test career, he has accumulated 205 wickets out of 45 matches at an average of 19.40, which is a huge contribution.
Unlike India’s batter’s century, bowlers have amassed wickets in their trophy cabinet. Particularly India’s quickest bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, has added a massive portion to India’s current Test against England by taking 5 wickets. Further, he engraved his name on cricket, as he has turned out to be the first Asian bowler to achieve 150 wickets in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia). Bumrah nearly shattered Ashwin’s record.
Except Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj did 3 and 2 respectively. Both performed well, though. Unique feature of the current India vs England 1st Test is that it’s being commanded by all the emerging cricketers with utmost energy and risk-taking spirit. Although they shouldn’t underestimate England.
