The upcoming India vs England 2nd Test is anticipated to be a closely contested match. After a shocking defeat in the 1st Test at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, Indian team will likely focus on adapting to the conditions, with key players aiming to make significant contributions. In the second innings, England scored 420 runs. Ollie Pope scored 196 runs. Jasprit Bumrah and Ashwin picked 4 wickets and 3 wickets respectively. India was bowled out for 202 in their last innings, falling short of the target by 28 runs. Tom Hartley grabbed 7 wickets.

It is also not to forget that, Team India lost 2 out of last 3 test matches played at home conditions. Also, This is the second time when the England team have won a Test match on Indian soil after the historic triumph of winning the series in India back in 2012.

Absence Of KL Rahul & Ravindra Jadeja

Rohit Sharma’s side will be without KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, both of whom made significant contributions in the first Test, for the contest. Virat Kohli will join the Indian camp after 2nd test match.

Ben Stokes the skipper of England said that this win has been their greatest triumph since he was made captain. He adds on by saying that he is a great observer and he observed how the Indian spinners operated in the first innings and wanted to implement the same when they came out to bowl.

After Post match presentation Rohit Sharma said that the game was played over four days and it is hard to blame one thing but to bottle a lead of 190 runs was heartbreaking. Adds that at the end of the day, you analyze what went well and didn’t go well and they did realize that the bowlers executed their plans but Pope simply batted really well.

What Rahul Dravid Has Said

“We probably shouldn’t have been chasing 232. Truly exceptional innings to get us to chase that amount of runs. Yeah, so I think that, to me, that [Pope’s innings] really was the difference in the game. I think that’s something that set us back he played a lot of high-risk shots but executed them superbly. And that’s incredible, on a wicket like that 196 when nobody else got 50 was a difference in the game,” Dravid said.

India will lock horns with England in the highly-anticipated second Test match starting Friday (Feb 02) in Visakhapatnam. The Men in Blue will aim to bounce back after a surprising defeat in the first Test.

The weather forecast says the chances of rain affecting the game are significantly low. The maximum temperature on the five days will range from 32 to 34 degrees Celsius. On the first three days, there will be a slight chance of rain, with prediction of about 25 per cent.
