Ben Stokes scored a century and helped England to cross 600 runs and attain a huge lead in the first innings. Ben Stokes got out for 141 runs. Ben Stokes became the first England captain to score a century and take a fifer in the same test. Overall, Ben Stokes is the fifth captain to achieve this feat in test cricket.

Jasprit Bumrah entered an unwanted record in the books yesterday. He conceded 112 runs and picked 2 wickets in his 35 overs in the first innings. This is the first time Bumrah has gone for more than 100 runs in a test innings. His streak was broken in his 47th test match.

KL Rahul crossed 500 runs in this series and became only the second Indian opener after Sunil Gavaskar to achieve this feat in an overseas test series.
KL Rahul scored his 12th fifty-plus score as an opener in SENA test matches. He equaled the record of Dimuth Karunaratne and ony behind Sunil Gavaskar in the list of most 50-plus scores in SENA test matches as an Asian opener.

Shubman Gill’s grit
Shubman Gill was critcized a lot for his failure in the 3rd Test and for his strategies and attitude on the field as a captain even after scoring tons of runs in the first two matches. He took the responsibility and showed resilience along with KL Rahul.
The duo batted for two sessions without losing a wicket. Shubman Gill has scored 689 runs in this series so far. This is the highest number of runs scored by an Asian batter in a test series in England. He broke the 19-year old record of Mohammed Yousuf.
