South African Cricket is considered to be the hot favorite for the T20 World Cup 2022. The Proteas have got all the bases covered and have got the team to excel in Australian conditions. Strengths

South Africa’s strength is its bowling. The presence of Rabada, Nortje, and Ngidi can easily create havoc as these bowlers not only have got express pace but are quite consistent with their line and length. South Africa is blessed to have two witty spinners present in the form of Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi. But it looks unlikely that both will play as spinners don’t tend to get that help in Australia.

Weaknesses

The form of Skipper Temba Bavuma is a concern for the team as the batter is in tatters. Perhaps, the management should make Bavuma bat at no.3 position and make Markram open the innings as getting a brisk start is very vital to the team. For ages, South Africa has had a very bad habit of throwing away the momentum. Last year also, they missed out on Semi Final berth by a whisker.

Rilee Rossouw, the left-handed batter can be the surprise package for the opposition. The batter has returned to South African colors after 7 years due to Kolpak Treaty. The batter has been playing franchise Cricket around the world and has shown that he can wreck the opposition. The batter was a part of the 2015 World Cup in Australia and his experience would come in handy for Proteas.

Chances

South Africa has a great chance to stamp its authority this time. Their biggest challenge would be India as recently India defeated them in T20I Series.

The Head Coach Mark Boucher would be hoping to sign off in a grand fashion. Boucher has been quite instrumental in taking the team to this level. South Africa has got all the traits to seal the Semi Final berth this time.
