Zimbabwe restricted host Bangladesh from whitewashing the series they won the match by 8 wickets. Zimbabwe was trying to keep momentum throughout the series but failed in 4 matches finally they got the momentum and won the match. Bangladesh was not up to their mark because they were in the zone of whitewashing and so they played leniently and failed to win the match.
Decent batting performance by Bangladesh
Zimbabwe had won the toss and opted to bowl first. Bangladesh had a flop start and lost 3 wickets in powerplay. Skipper Najimul Hossain Shanto scored 36 runs and later connoisseur Mahmudullah scored a half-century which helped Bangladesh to score 157 onboard. Finishing touches by Shakib Al Hasan and Jaker Ali also helped to reach 157 runs. Decent performance by Bangladesh batters throughout the series batters were not keen on their performance and this match was still better than the rest of the matches. Zimbabwe bowlers showed their best performance and backed their bowlers.
Zimbabwe dominated with batting
Zimbabwe’s main concern was batting, throughout the series they struggled to find their momentum with batting finally that mystery also got solved, Zimbabwe chased the target within 18.3 overs and won the match by 8 wickets. Brian Bennett and skipper Sikander Raza showed their top-class batting and scored half-centuries. Sikander Raza who struggled to find his form scored 72 runs and he is back in form. Bangladesh bowlers struggled to find a way to bowl too and so they lost their momentum and lost the match. Player of the Match was adjourned to Brian Bennett and Player of the Series Taskin Ahmed.
Preparation for The T20 World Cup
The T20I series between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe concluded and Bangladesh won the series by 4-1. Ahead of the T20 World Cup, both teams have performed average and decent still need to practice more in both departments especially Zimbabwe need to do a lot of practice their batsmen need to focus and play cricketing shots, in the World Cup it won’t be easy to compete with other teams one match can either take you forward or else it can snatch the momentum within no second. So, both teams need to prepare accordingly.
