Australian swashbuckling opener and left handed pocket sized dynamo David Warner grabbed the eyeballs of the crowd in the ongoing Perth test vs Pakistan. David Warner slammed a scintillating century on the opening day of the test match .His masterful innings of 164 runs in 211 balls enabled Australia to pile up 356 runs for the loss of 5 wickets at the end of Day 1.

This was Warner’s 26th century in his test career. The comprised of 16 fours and 4 sixes. Such was the clarity and authority of this knock that in the process Warner surpassed the likes of Matthew Hayden and Michael Clarke in the list of highest run getters for Australia in tests only to be behind the likes of Ricky Ponting, Allan Border, Steve Waugh and Steve Smith.

What stood more interesting and created quite a stir was Warner’s style of celebration after the completion of the century. Warner  having the knack of trademark celebrations like the recently famous Pushpa style celebration in the recently concluded World Cup, took off his stride and then opened up his trademark celebration with a Jump before making a small gesture of nice little shush towards the camera.

This celebration caused quite a buzz in the media as it was reported to be be fitting  reply to the likes of Mitchell Johnson who before the start of the series which is David Warner’s last series as a test cricketer  doubted Warner’s ability to perform.

I don’t feel any extra pressure- David Warner

Before the start of the series , former Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson targeted David Warner in his column by terming the Australia- Pakistan series as the grand farewell for the veteran and David Warner grabbing the limelight for the same.

Veteran Australian opener David Warner opened up on his trademark celebration after reaching his century on Day 1 of the first Test against Pakistan in Perth. The left-handed batter added that he’s within his rights to celebrate the way he wants, with cricket lovers and supporters speculating it to be directed to Mitchell Johnson. After reaching a record 26th Test ton, the 36-year-old brought out his trademark celebration and kissed his badge.

When asked about the celebration, the left-hander said that it was a ‘nice little shush’ and that he didn’t feel any pressure before walking out to bat. He said, as quoted by cricket.com.au:

“You saw what it was – it was a nice little quiet shush. Anyone who wants to write stories about me and get headlines, that stuff doesn’t bother me. It’s just the fact that I have to go out there, do what I have to do. And I’m allowed to celebrate how I want. I don’t feel any extra pressure.  I don’t feel any other points I have to prove,”
