Former English Player Andrew Strauss gave credit to the England team, as they exhibited commendable improvement compared to the opening session. Australia dominated the inaugural day, however, the second session belongs to England as they held their nerves and took prompt wickets to get Australia all out on 416, despite still being well-behind Australia, Ben Stokes, and Co appear to be in a better position.

Nonetheless, England is staring itself down at a barrel of 278/4, with both the openers dismissed and returned back to the dugouts, Joe Root and Ollie Pope were eliminated by the short ball, ousted by Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green. Ben Duckett also became the victim of the Short ball, played by Josh Hazelwood, and got dismissed on 98 runs just falling short of the well-deserved century. Ben Stokes and Harry Brook displayed a strong presence on the batting field, constructing a solid partnership, thus they will continue the game on the third day.

“England not ahead of the game but roaring back..” – Andrew Strauss

Andrew Strauss claims that Australia were sloppy and careless, they bowled a lot of no-balls and were not commendable on the third day. He stated while talking to Sky Sports:

“It was all Australia yesterday and all England today. England are now in a very strong position, they are not ahead of the game but they have certainly come roaring back. Australia were sloppy, lacked a bit of discipline with their no-balls, and England got the balance right. They attacked but without too much risk. I thought it was an excellent day for them,” said Andrew Strauss.

The second day yielded positive outcomes for England, they are in a better and improved situation currently, now on the third day they have to safeguard their wickets and pile up more runs, in order to get ahead of the match and provide a strong lead to Australia.
