Andre Russell’s Impressive Bowling Figures

Whenever we think of Andre Russell we just remember his batting and how hard he hits a cricket ball. But today he showed how capable of a bowler he is. The fast-bowling allrounder bowled exceptionally well against the English batsmen picking up 3 wickets conceding just 19 runs.

He used the slower balls to good effect tying down the English batsmen who found it tough to get him away and score runs. The Allrounder has been in a poor rut of form in the past few years and his performances have declined by a fair margin. The senior allrounder used all his experience and bowled well according to the conditions. He finished as the best bowler for West Indies with figures of 4-0-19-3.

Andre Russell Unleashes Carnage

Andre Russell was not done after his exemplary bowling display, the all-rounder came into bat when the West Indies were struggling at 123-6 and still had 49 more to get in 5overs on a pitch that was two-paced. The Senior Batter showed his might by smacking the English bowlers.

The All-rounder hit 2 sixes and 2 fours and finished with 29 runs in just 14 balls helping West Indies chase down the total with 11 balls to spare. Andre Russell  known for his explosive batting style, took center stage as he unleashed a barrage of boundaries and towering sixes. His innings once again reminded everyone of his best days when the all-rounder bashed the bowlers for fun.

Unsurprisingly, Andre Russell was rightfully awarded the Man of the Match for his stellar all-round performance. His contributions with both bat and ball played a pivotal role in West Indies’ victory and this performance will give him a lot of confidence going forward.

Speaking in the post-match presentation Russell said he was dreaming about the man of the match performance on his return and shared a few thoughts on how he approached this match.

“Actually, life is so funny. When I got a call-up two weeks back, I was dreaming about getting a MoM award, I didn’t know how it would have happen though. Since the CPL season, the wicket has been up and down, two-paced, you’ll have to bowl a lot more cutters,” said Andre Russell.

“Early on in their innings, runs were scored when there was pace. We bowled very well in the latter half. It was all about batting in pirs, we both have power (on himself and Powell), we knew we could finish off the game if we batted deep,” he added.
