Ravindra Jadeja is among the best all-rounders in the world at the moment. He is a one-man bowling, batting, and fielding machine that can win games for any team. Being a 3D player in the Indian setup, he has an inviolable spot in the side. Considering that all of the matches will be played in the Caribbean, his middle-overs bowling can be highly successful going into the elimination stages.

Ravindra Jadeja made a big impression while being captained by MS Dhoni. Early in his career, Dhoni supported him, and in the end, he proved to be a match-winner for Team India across all three forms. This World Cup, Ravindra Jadeja hasn’t done much with the bat, but he has made contributions in the field and with the ball.

Ravindra Jadeja hasn’t performed to the expected level in the current showpiece tournament. On Monday, June 24, in the Men in Blue’s last Super 8 match against Australia, he bowled just one over. After giving up 17 runs in an over, the left-arm spinner was not given another opportunity to prove himself.

Ravindra Jadeja Considered As Third Spinner

Sanjay Manjrekar on Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel’s prowess in these conditions. He said :

“I think compared to Axar and Kuldeep Yadav, maybe Jadeja is a little limited in comparison. Axar Patel has those little subtleties, change of angle, pace and what he does. Jadeja is a very disciplined, accurate bowler who will feed off a good pitch, and a batter makes a mistake, he gets you out. Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel have more to offer than Ravindra Jadeja.”

He thinks Axar Patel is the captains favourite in these conditions over Ravindra Jadeja, he added :

“I think India made a commitment to Axar Patel as the first-choice left-arm spinner. So not only with performance that Jadeja has been relegated to number three, that is also about the captain who believes which is the better left-arm spinner for him.”

In five innings at the 2024 T20 World Cup, Ravindra Jadeja has only taken one wicket. In the current main event, he has the lowest economy rate (7.80) among Indian bowlers.

Axar Patel Is High On Confidence

According to Sanjay Manjrekar, Axar Patel would have a lot of confidence after his impressive performance against Australia. Marcus Stoinis was crucially removed by the cunning spinner, who conceded just 21 runs in three overs. Axar shown exceptional skill in the field by dismissing Mitchell Marsh with a magnificent one-handed catch in the boundary. Manjrekar praised the 30-year-old for his performance, saying:

“They’ve gone to him before Jadeja, the more seasoned and the bigger name. After today’s game, his confidence will be right up there. He’ll regard this as one of his most important performances. Against the odds, small ground, Australian team where one left-hander was flying right through the innings, excellent economy rate and bowled really well.”

In the last Super 8 match, India defeated Australia by a score of 24 runs. On Thursday, June 27, in Guyana, the Men in Blue will now play England in the 2024 T20 World Cup semifinals.
