IPL 2024: Shubman Gill Bamboozled By Liam Livingstone As GT Skipper Reflects On His Dismissal

Gujarat Titans (GT) finally won after losing two back-to-back games in the league and got the momentum to winning track. They defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) yesterday in Mullanpur and took revenge for the last match. Shubman Gill, skipper of Gujarat Titans played a crucial knock by scoring 35 runs in 29 balls.

Gujarat Titans are now in the sixth position of the points table, till last year they used to be at the top of the points table but since Hardik Pandya has been transferred to Mumbai Indians (MI) and captaincy handed over to Shubman Gill form of Gujarat Titans has lost somewhere.

IPL 2024 GT won the revenge battle in Mullanpur

Gujarat Titans (GT) thrashed the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Mullanpur and took a sort of revenge for the last match which was played in Ahmedabad. Punjab had won the toss and elected to bat first but since Shikhar Dhawan is not in the playing XI Punjab Kings have lost the momentum in batting and struggling too. Punjab Kings managed to score 142 which was a very below-par score on that pitch.

In return, Gujarat Titans (GT) had a decent start and skipper Shubman Gill scored 35 runs he was back in form but English men Liam Livingstone trapped Shubman Gill,  and Gujarat Titans won the match by keeping 3 wickets in hand. Other than Shubman Gill, Rahul Tewatia played a crucial knock of 36 runs and won the match. Ravi Sai Kishore was adjourned as player of the match, he scalped 4 wickets.

Gujarat won their fourth match after losing two back-to-back matches but it seems they have got their momentum back and will try to keep this in the next matches too.

In the post-match presentation, Shubman said that he is not taking any pressure of captaincy rather he is enjoying the new role and having a good time with it. Despite he also added about the dismissal of his wicket he said

“He was trying to rush me there but the ball that I got out, I would have made that decision regardless even without that little bit that we had,” said Shubman Gill.
