In a stunning display of bowling prowess, Sam Cook and Nandre Burger led Joburg Super Kings to a resounding victory over Paarl Royals in the SA20 Eliminator clash at the Wanderers Stadium. Cook, making his debut in the competition, claimed four crucial wickets, while Burger contributed three as the Royals succumbed to 138 all out.

Cook, Burger Too Hot to Handle for Struggling Royals

Initially, Paarl Royals showed promise as Jason Roy aggressively attacked Burger, launching him for a six and two boundaries in an over. Jos Buttler joined the onslaught, striking a six off Cook. However, their momentum was short-lived as Buttler fell to a mistimed shot, followed swiftly by Mitchell Van Buuren’s departure after an exceptional catch by Imran Tahir. Burger continued to wreak havoc, dismissing Roy and reducing the Royals to 43/4. Despite a brief partnership between Dane Vilas and David Miller, Burger’s return spell dashed any hopes of recovery. Miller’s valiant 47 off 40 deliveries couldn’t prevent the Royals from crumbling under the combined assault of Tahir and Cook.
