The Australian cricket team is all set to clash against South Africa in the 3 T20I match series commencing on 30th August. Kagiso Rabada is rested for the T20I circuit which may be to manage his workload as he is quite injury prone. Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi & Anrich Nortje form a deadly trio in the ODI and can be a force to reckon with.

Australia would be keen to get some wins under their belt. The side recently won the ODI Series against India against all odds as there was camaraderie between the players. With Mitchell Marsh leading the side, we can expect an attacking brand of captaincy and perhaps a sensible knock from Mitchell Marsh.

We are all willing to win the World Cup- Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada was having an interaction with iol.com.za and stated that the side is quite focused on winning the marquee World Cup 2023. Kagiso Rabada pointed out that the side doesn’t pay attention to South African cricket and World Cups and was quite dejected after the poor performance in the 2019 ODI WC when the side looked off-color.

“All this drama outside about South African cricket and World Cups… we’re not paying attention to it really. Having been to World Cups and not winning silverware, it’s disappointing… I won’t lie. I’m willing to make it happen, we’re all willing to make it happen,” said Kagiso Rabada.

“Winning a World Cup is something that I would love to do. It’s something every player that’s in the set-up would love to do. The only thing going there, once the squad is announced, is to win it,” he added.

Great contest on Cards

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has shown faith in Temba Bavuma in the ODI format as the batter recently trounced England in the ODI Series by 2-1 but still, there are quite a few concerns for the team. The side needs to figure out their death bowlers as conceding more than 10 runs per over can spoil all the hard work of the key & frontline bowlers.

The ODI series between South Africa & Australia is set to commence on 7th September as all the eyes will be on Marnus Labuschagne who will have a chance to stake a claim in the ODI WC 2023 squad. Marnus needs to convert his starts and smash big tons which most likely will seal his ODI WC slot.
