The wrist-spinner Tanveer Sangha had a dream start to his T20I career. Tanveer Sangha took 4 scalps and conceded 31 runs in his 4-over spell. Tanveer Sangha had come into the team in place of the injured Adam Zampa. Tanveer Sangha was seen giving air to the ball and foxed the batters with his variations.

Tanveer played a key role in rattling South Africa for 115 runs as the novice spinner didn’t give ample room to the batters. Aussies would be delighted with this performance as winning the match by 111 runs says a lot about the team’s dynamics and character.

Tanveer Sangha a star in making

Tanveer Sangha along with Adam Zampa can form a deadly pair in the upcoming T20 WC 2024. Cricket Australia (CA) selectors now have got some happy headaches as the side also has the services of the left arm spinner Ashton Agar whose angle is quite disturbing to the batters and at the same time, he is also a handy batter.

Australia on a roll

Australia’s intent from the start of the match was like that they won’t stop playing attacking brand of cricket even if they are losing wickets from other end which seemed productive this time. We should not forget that Aussies are without the likes of Steve Smith, David Warner, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins & Josh Hazlewood and yet they won the match by 111 runs which is immense.

South Africa on the other hand got a reality check and perhaps, the management needs to look past Temba Bavuma. It won’t be wrong to say that the batter doesn’t have the skillset that is required to succeed in the shortest format of the game. South Africa will have to pull their socks up as the series is on the line.
