After electing to bat first, Rajasthan Royals (RR) set a formidable total of 194 runs against the dangerous Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). RR skipper Sanju Samson come earlier to bat as the destructive batter Jos Buttler was dismissed cheaply. Sanju Samson along with Yashasvi Jaiswal got the team to a flyer as they scored 54 runs in the powerplay overs for the loss of 2 wickets.

Sanju Samson, the eclectic right handed batter formed a crucial partnership of 93 runs in 59 balls with Riyan Parag. Parag finally silenced all the critics by playing a fluent knock of 43 runs in 29 balls and he looked in complete control and struck 3 sixes and 1 four. Riyan Parag didn’t panic after playing a string of dot balls as skipper Sanju Samson was seen having constant interactions with him during the partnership.
Sanju Samson played an unbeaten flamboyant knock of 82 runs in 53 balls and struck 6 huge sixes and 3 fours. RR skipper looked as if he was on a mission as he took calculative risks and who knows if he continues to perform consistently, he can be a strong contender for the national cricket team for the upcoming T20 WC 2024.
Topsy-turvy performance by LSG’s bowlers
Apart from the seasoned campaigner Krunal Pandya, all the bowlers were taken to the cleaners. Krunal Pandya conceded only 19 runs in his 4 overs spell. In the last 5 overs, LSG conceded 50 runs and took 1 wicket. Naveen-ul- Haq was seen bowling wide off-stump deliveries which were quite successful during the death overs which somewhat stopped the flow of runs. Naveen-ul-Haq took 2 wickets and conceded 41 runs in his 4 over spell.
Who is winning the match
LSG are somewhat red hot favorites to win the match as the surface doesn’t have any significant demons in it and there are chances that the pitch may ease out a bit. All eyes will be on the skipper KL Rahul who would be roaring to make a mark that he is not done yet. If LSG manages to score around 70 runs in the powerplay overs then they would be in state of ascendancy.
RR on the other side would be banking on the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal who can spurn a web across the batters. The player with the golden arm Trent Boult will be the key bowler as he is someone who can create a havoc with his impeccable line & length.
