Pakistan won over Bangladesh by a huge margin of seven wickets and Imam-ul-Haq played a key role in the triumph. First, it was Haris Rauf who set the tone for the team, as Bangladesh only managed 193 on the scoreboard. Imam-ul-Haq who stuck around in the middle to make this target even easier through his brilliant knock of 78 of 84 balls.

This inning by Imam-ul-Haq was not very fluent because the conditions were testing as the Bangladeshi bowlers were bowling some good line and length, but the elegant left-hander showed his temperament to stay on the crease and make the target gettable for his team. He also took charge of the short bowling by the bowlers.

Imam-ul-Haq has been very consistent- Sanjay Bangar

Sanjay Bangar was having an interaction with Star Sports and was quite impressed with the way Imam-ul-Haq paced his innings and said that the knock was not an easy one for him as the Bangladeshi bowlers tested him properly with some good line & length.

“Imam has been very consistent in the Pakistan team’s batting because he has scored a lot of centuries in the last few years. It was not an easy knock for him because Bangladesh’s bowlers tested him properly with some good line and length,” said Sanjay Bangar.

“Whether it was Taskin Ahmed or Shoriful, the lines they were bowling to him did not give him any easy runs to score. He stuck to his strength and attacked the short balls, whether it was against the pacers or the spinners. He scored a lot of runs with that shot in the beautiful knock,”
he added.

Imam-ul-Haq a complete batter

The left-handed opener really played beautifully in the inning; Imam-ul-Haq really took on the short balls and scored a lot of his runs through the pull. His partnership with Rizwan was the turning point of the match; even after posting a small total on the board, the Bangladeshi bowlers were brilliant with their bowling. 50 more runs could have created more problems for the strong batting line-up of Pakistan.

In the inning, the Pakistani is one of the most compact batters in his team; it is not wrong to say he has better technique than the rest of the other left-handers in world cricket right now. Since his debut, he has been a very consistent player in the ODI format for Pakistan.
