NZ VS AFG: Mitchell Santner and Co Shatter Afghanistan To Guide Them To An Easy Win

Mitchell Santner and co rattle Afghanistan to guide New Zealand to an easy win as they won by a huge margin of 149. Earlier in the day Afghanistan had a worst day on the field dropping five catches which proved to be costly in the end. New Zealand and Afghanistan are set to clash in a highly anticipated match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Glenn Phillips and Tom Latham rescued the black caps from 110 for 4 to 254 for 5   as the duo added vital  144 runs for the fifth wicket. Both Glenn Phillips and Tom Latham took the attack to the Afghanistan bowlers after the 40th over as Glenn Phillips scored a fantastic 71 runs off 80 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes.

Skipper Tom Latham played a responsible knock and played the  second fiddle for his partner he scored a brilliant 68 runs off 74 with 3 fours and  2 sixes Mark Chapman played a cameo as he scored  25 off 12 with 2 fours and six to guide them to 288 for 6 in 50 overs.

Naveen picked up 2 back to back wickets he finished with 2 for 48 in his 8 overs. Afghanistan got to the worst start with the bat as Gurbaz departed for 11 off 21  and  Ibrahim Zadran also went cheaply for 14 off 15 with 2 fours.

Henry bowled a perfect line and length as he picked up the vital wicket of Gurbaz he finished with 1 for 16 in his 5 overs with 2 maiden overs. Trent Boult is known for his new ball bowling and swing and he did just that today picking up 2 wickets for 18 in his 7 overs.

Ferguson bowled with intent and with some serious pace he troubled the batsman with short balls and finished with the figures of 3 for 19 in his 7 overs. Ravindra took out Rahmat he was caught and bowled he is the top scorer for Afghanistan made 36 off 62 with a four

Santner gets his 100th ODI wicket; turns away after pitching and clips the top of off. Nabi departs and he finishes off the tail finished with the best figures 3 for 39 in7.4 overs New Zealand wins the match with ease Afghanistan got bundled out for a mere 139 in just 34.4 overs.
