Rajasthan Royals (RR), the 2008 IPL Champions haven’t been able to peak at the crunch moments of the match. The spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal & Ravichandran Ashwin looks quite threatening. The foxy spinner Yuzvendra Chahal though is quite expensive on RR’s home ground Sawai Singh Stadium, Jaipur.
Apart from RR skipper Sanju Samson & the dangerous batter Jos Buttler, the rest of the batting line up needs to step up and play fearless brand of cricket. It would be interesting to see whether the head coach Kumar Sangakkara once again gives a long rope to Riyan Parag who had a forgettable IPL 2023 but at the same time, he can be seen smashing some gigantic sixes in the domestic arena.

Former Indian batter Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his You Tube channel. Aakash Chopra took a unique stance on the shrewd leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and said that he doesn’t have a promising record in Jaipur. Aakash Chopra also pointed out that RR needs to show faith in the spin trio of Adam Zampa, Yuzvendra Chahal & Ravichandran Ashwin.
“You can’t ignore Rajasthan. They have Yuzi (Yuzvendra) Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin, and along with them Adam Zampa. Their problem is they aren’t able to play the three of them together. They keep finding a third spinner. They played Murugan Ashwin a lot and played Zampa very little,” said Aakash Chopra.
“They go towards an overseas fast bowler and search for a batter at times. They have India’s No. 1 and No. 2 type of spinners in Yuzi Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin. For some strange reason, Yuzi Chahal does not have very good numbers at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium,” he added.
Great chance for Rajasthan Royals
All eyes will be on the batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal who has made a name for himself across all the 3 formats and has looked unstoppable. Yashasvi Jaiswal along with Jos Buttler can be a deadly combo and we have seen many times that openers lay the foundation for the rest of the batting line up.
Once again the onus will be on the Black Caps’ witty left arm pacer Trent Boult who has the knack of picking up early wickets and at the same time, Boult can also be used in the middle overs phase. The specialty of RR is that they have got a lot of match winners in the bowling department as the spin duo of Ashwin & Chahal may be expensive but at the same time they have the knack of picking key wickets which is invaluable in IPL.
