Punjab Kings (PBKS) have had a mixed IPL 2024 so far where they have won 1 match and lost 1 contest. Nathan Ellis, the speedster is expected to feature in PBKS’ next match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on 30th March at Lucknow. Nathan Ellis is known for his foxy variations where batters are quite clueless against the lanky pacer.

PBKS’ fans would be hoping that the destructive right handed batter Jonny Bairstow gets into the groove and plays a stellar knock for the team. Bairstow needs to play his natural fearless brand of cricket as his dismissal puts extra pressure on the skipper Shikhar Dhawan which is not a good sign.

PBKS should not take LSG lightly as the side has got a lot of pinch hitters present in the form of Nicholas Pooran & Marcus Stoinis. All eyes though will be on the skipper KL Rahul who would be keen to make a mark that he is not done yet in the T20 format. LSG’s management would be considering promoting Krunal Pandya up the order as he is someone who can provide stability to the team if there is a collapse.

You get a lot of good wickets in IPL- Nathan Ellis

Nathan Ellis was having an interaction with Sportskeeda. Nathan Ellis stated that the bowlers need to be proactive and be a step ahead of the batter. Nathan Ellis pointed out that the bowlers need to get quickly acclimatize to the conditions and learn to play in different conditions.

“Firstly you got to be quick to learn to play in different conditions. You get a lot of good wickets here which means you got to think on your feet and be proactive. T20 cricket is about being proactive and being a step ahead of the batter. So for me it is about learning as fast as I can and implementing that in the games moving forward,” said Nathan Ellis.

“I think coming into the tournament I thought it’s going to be a huge huge asset, but I think at the moment people might be leaning on it a bit too much. I think maybe later in the tournament when the wicket starts to get a bit tired, it might be a good option,” he added.

My first game for Punjab in Sharjah was exciting- Nathan Ellis

Nathan Ellis recalled his favorite moment for Punjab Kings (PBKS) franchise. Ellis acknowledged the fact that he has been with PBKS for quite a while. Ellis also pointed out his memorable moment for his national team and said that it was a surreal feeling when his family was there at Perth.

“My favorite moment for Punjab would be last year when we first played in Mohali. I have been with Punjab for a while, but we have been in Dubai in the COVID years. I hadn’t played at the home ground yet, so my first game there was really exciting. My first game for Punjab in Sharjah was also pretty exciting,” said Nathan Ellis.

“We played earlier in West Indies, Bangladesh and Pakistan and my family wasn’t able to come because it was all COVID times. While Perth isn’t very close to home, it was still in Australia and my family got to come. My now wife was there. I got to sing the national anthem in front of my family. That was really surreal. Almost like ‘I made it’ moment,” he added.
