Gujarat Titans (GT) who were struggling a bit in the tournament set the stage on fire by playing a rampage innings yesterday at Ahmadabad against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Both GT openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan scored a century and registered a double-century partnership which took the team’s total to 231. In return, Chennai Super Kings fell short by 35 runs. Gujarat Titans kept their hopes alive to qualify for playoffs.
Shubman Gill praises Sai Sudharsan and their innings
In the post-match presentation, Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill lauds his opening partner Sai Sudharsan for his carnage innings and spoke about the partnership it was fearless and vintage batting from both batters. Gill said:
“Just the freeness of it. When we were batting out there, we didn’t have any targets in mind. We were just maximizing the opportunities in front of us,” the skipper began.
“We have a good camaraderie between us. Even last year we batted a lot together and it is a lot of fun batting with him,” he said.
Shubman Gill speaks on Mohit Sharma
Shubman Gill also mentions the contribution of season campaigner Mohit Sharma who shifted the momentum toward the Gujarat Titans after a double wicket over which includes wicket of Moeen Ali and Daryl Mitchell. Mohit Sharma scalped 3 wickets in his spell. He added:
“Mohit bhai has done this for us the last couple of years. Even last year, his bowling was a revelation. And it is so this year too,” the 24-year-old said.

In the end, Shubman Gill gives credit to their fans and the home crowd who came in large numbers to support us.
“When you’ve got 100k people supporting you, it becomes easier,” he concluded.
Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings both have now chance to win the remaining games and qualify but especially Chennai Super Kings need to win both remaining matches to qualify for playoffs Gujarat Titans also need to win all remaining matches but it depends on the net run rate.
