Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) got a kind of reality check against Gujarat Titans (GT) as they lost the match by 7 wickets and couldn’t defend 163 target. SRH skipper Pat Cummins‘ tactics weren’t that effective as his decision to introduce himself in the end did backfire. Pat Cummins though was pick of the bowlers who took 1 wicket and gave away 28 runs in his 4 over spell.
It won’t be wrong to say that the form of Mayank Agarwal now is hurting the team who needs to find a way to tackle the short ball. Not a single SRH’s batter scored 30 odd runs which is not at all a good sign. The side is way too much reliant on the swashbuckling batter Heinrich Klaasen as his dismissal proved to be the difference in the end.
GT on the other side would be pumped up after the thrashing they received against the defending champions CSK but now the side is placed at 4th position on the points table with 4 points from 3 matches and an NRR (net run rate) of -0.738. GT under Shubman Gill against SRH looked a formidable unit as Shubman Gill rotated his bowlers smartly and the decision to introduce Mohit Sharma after 10 overs did wonders for the team as he took 3 wickets and gave away 25 runs in his 4 over spell.

Pat Cummins was seen in the post match presentation. Pat Cummins pointed out that GT’s bowlers bowled well and said that the wicket was a bit slow and the off-cutters did grip. Pat Cummins stated that one of SRH’s batters needed to capitalize on the start and get a half century which would have made the difference in the end.
“Good game of cricket, was tight in the end, probably we needed 10-15 more runs. I think they bowled well, just losing a couple of wickets, didn’t have that one person who kicked on to get a fifty, that happens,” said Pat Cummins.
“Today it was, we thought the wicket was going to get a bit slow, the off-cutters did grip, we had 8 bowling options in our side. I thought the wicket played the same in both innings. It’s T20 cricket isn’t it? Had a fantastic couple of games with the bat, today we didn’t quite click,” he added.
