Venkatesh Iyer, the dynamic all-rounder will be key for KKR in the high voltage tournament. Venkatesh Iyer had a stellar IPL 2023 edition where he scored 404 runs at a strike rate of 145.85. The left handed batter was used as an impact player for most of the matches and did a commendable job.

Phil Salt can be the lightning spark for KKR who has come into the squad in place of Jason Roy. Salt was a part of Delhi Capitals (DC) for IPL 2023 edition and had impressed everyone with his wide range of shots. Undoubtedly, KKR are red hot favorites for the championship but the only problem for the 2 time IPL winners is that they change the combination quite frequently which disturbs the dynamics of the team.

I feel honored & privileged to play for this amazing franchise- Venkatesh Iyer

Venkatesh Iyer was having an interaction with the media. The rising all-rounder stated that the side is going to put their best foot forward to win IPL 2024. Venkatesh Iyer made it clear that he can also bowl for the team in pressure situations and said that KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer has had confidence in him.

“It’s always exciting to be a part of KKR and I feel honored and privileged to play for this amazing franchise. The ultimate goal is to win the trophy. We know we have it in us to win it so we’re looking forward to going out there and putting our best foot forward. I’m looking forward to contributing with both bat and ball, so let’s hope for the best,” said Venkatesh Iyer.

“Whenever the captain would want me to bowl an over or two, I’ll always be there. Shreyas has always had that confidence in me and he trusts that I can get the job done for the team in pressure situations,” he added.

Tough road ahead for KKR

It would be interesting to see how KKR’s newly appointed mentor Gautam Gambhir manages the workload of the lethal speedster Mitchell Starc who is coming back in IPL after 2015 edition. Mitchell Starc is not that much consistent as the decision to invest 20 odd crores by KKR can backfire.

KKR perhaps needs to use the flamboyant all-rounder Andre Russell as a floater as he has the knack of playing a fiery knock for the team and at the same time, can also bowl couple of overs for the team if needed. The duo of Russell & Narine need to be fearless in their approach as they are no longer newbies.
