Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) skipper Shreyas Iyer would be crestfallen after missing out on BCCI’s contract player list. Shreyas Iyer‘s career has been full of ups and downs and we should not forget that he is quite injury prone as well as his back injury has been troubling him for quite some time.

Shreyas Iyer is out of the T20I list- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra stated that Shreyas Iyer at the moment is out of the T20I list and will have to perform exceedingly well and score in excess of 550 runs to stake a claim in the national side. Aakash Chopra pointed out that it is a great opportunity for Shreyas Iyer to make a mark and state that he is not done yet.
“Shreyas Iyer – you are out of the T20I list at this point in time. However, you can come back on the back of a fantastic IPL. If he does well, scores more than 550 runs, which he can probably score, how will anyone ignore him?,” said Aakash Chopra.
“Then you will say that he should be kept in the team as he is a mighty player. At this point in time, he is out of that loop. At some stage, he can come back in, but for that, the IPL needs to be extremely good. So a great opportunity,” he added.
Rise of Venkatesh Iyer
The left handed batter Venkatesh Iyer has been one of the biggest positives for the side. Venkatesh has got a wide range of shorts and it won’t be wrong to say that KKR have found a perfect no,3 batter in the form of him. Venkatesh Iyer had scored 404 runs in IPL 2023 edition and was fearless in his approach.
It won’t be a surprise if KKR go in with 3 spinners in the playing 11 in the form of Varun Chakaravarthy, Sunil Narine & Suyash Sharma as the track at Eden Gardens, Kolkata assist the spinners a lot and at the same time, it is also famous for batting as well. KKR needs to use Sunil Narine smartly as his 4 overs are quite decisive.
