There is a lot of buzz around Mumbai Indians (MI) which is not that good as MI fans are not happy with the exclusion of Rohit Sharma as the skipper. Rohit Sharma is in terrific form and the format may be different but he stood tall with his team mates and won the Test series against England by 4-1 after losing the opening test match.
BCCI’s chief selector Ajit Agarkar has made it clear that Rohit Sharma will lead India in ICC T20 WC 2024. MI’s coaching staff and management have stated that Rohit Sharma will be a part of the leadership group but being the leader and the part of the group is a complete two different phenomenon and only time will tell whether MI can win another trophy.

Harbhajan Singh was seen interacting with Star Sports. Harbhajan Singh lauded the leadership of Rohit Sharma and said that he has been a true leader of India and MI. Harbhajan Singh pointed out that winning 5 trophies for MI is quite a big thing and Harbhajan stated that the players accept the change and play good under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.
“I hope it’s for the betterment of the Mumbai Indians going forward. You know, Rohit has been a true leader and a champion player for Mumbai Indians and India as well. Knowing him, after winning so many trophies for MI and done so well at the international level, it must have come as a shock to him to suddenly not be part of the leadership group,” said Harbhajan Singh.
“I’m sure he’s going to be involved in some way or the other but we have seen Rohit growing as a player and captain and winning those five trophies. That speaks volumes about his captaincy. I don’t know; the management has taken the decision and I hope everyone takes it in the right spirit and Mumbai Indians plays like a champion side,”
Great chance for Rohit Sharma
It won’t be wrong to say that we may witness Vintage Rohit Sharma in IPL 2024 edition as he may play fearless brand of cricket and who knows he may smash couple of tons for MI. Rohit Sharma is at the back end of the career but still has got the zeal and passion and is one of the best tactician India ever had.
Rohit Sharma would be keen to make a statement that he is not finished yet and get some ample practice ahead of ICC T20 WC 2024. We should not forget that IPL 2024 is a stepping stone for all cricketers ahead of the much anticipated ICC T20 WC 2024 which is slated in USA- West Indies in June.
