Punjab Kings (PBKS) fans would be hoping that the side wins their maiden championship. The side always shows a lot of potential but they aren’t able to win key moments of the match. Rahul Chahar, the leg spinner will have to lead the spin department. PBKS fans will be well aware of the fact that Rahul Chahar can be the ‘X’ factor for the side which has a lot of variations and can deceive the batters by giving extra air & flight to the delivery.

PBKS franchise must capitalize on the winning run and the skipper in charge Shikhar Dhawan would be quite hopeful of India call up for ICC T20 World Cup 2024. If Shikhar Dhawan amasses 500 or 600 odd runs then he might make a huge case for himself for the marquee tournament.

Aakash Chopra backs Rahul Chahar to lead the  spin attack

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his You Tube channel and stated that the spin attack of Punjab Kings (PBKS) looks a bit fragile. Aakash Chopra emphasized on the fact that the likes of Liam Livingstone & Sikandar Raza can also create a havoc in the crunch situations of the match as the duo can spring in a surprise.

“If I go towards Punjab, they actually look slightly cold. Rahul Chahar is there for sure. You get a little leg-spin from Liam Livingstone, off-spin from Sikandar Raza, and left-arm spin from Harpreet Brar,” said Aakash Chopra.

“It’s not the greatest. When I look towards Punjab, I don’t see that much dominance of spinners. They look slightly lighter on the spinning side. I have a lot of respect for them but I don’t like their spin too much,” he added.

What PBKS’ needs to do?

PBKS must use Liam Livingstone as a floater as the flamboyant striker has not only got brute power but also has a wide range of shots. The duo of Sikandar Raza & Liam Livingstone can be a deadly one but at the same time, the duo don’t have promising stats against the spinners in the middle overs phase.

Once again all eyes will be on the lethal speedster Arshdeep Singh who now is by no means a newbie in the IPL setup. Arshdeep Singh needs to use off-cutters and back of the hand variations to fox the batters rather than bowling into the slot or in good length areas in the death overs stage.
