Mohammed Siraj, a fast bowler for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), is disappointed with his bowling performance in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). Mohammed Siraj has expressed serious concerns about fast bowling performances by fast bowlers in IPL 2024. The highest score for multiple sessions was 263 in the past, but this season’s IPL is shattering records in terms of runs scored. The team has scored more than 250 runs in eight games, smashed 42 sixes in one game, and is chasing a target of more than 260 runs only in this IPL season.

The best quick bowler in the world, Mohammed Siraj, bowled over 204 deliveries and was hit for 323 runs; he only managed to take 8 wickets so far, averaging 53.83 with an economy of 9.50. This player’s performance and the way the game is played in these circumstances, which allows batsmen to score large runs, are both quite disappointing for him. Compared to the previous season, when they bowled over 300 balls and claimed 19 wickets,

While RCB won the match, the fact that 400 runs were once again scored in a single match and that only 4 wickets fell overall—no bowler took two wickets in an over spell—opened Siraj to discuss the things that are not working in fast bowlers’ favor. Despite defeating GT, Mohammad Siraj has expressed his frustration in this way.

Mohammed Siraj Maintained His Perspective On fast bowling And His performance

While talking to the match presenter, Mohammed Siraj maintained his composure and stated that, in the past, 250 was considered a higher score in Twenty20 matches. He went on to say that the grounds are too small and that the ball is not singing against the bowlers. As a fast bowler, he maintained his belief that, if he does not get anything in one or two matches, he will find a way to bounce back. As of right now, the T20 World Cup is here, so he said, “I always look at the bowling to its greatest scenarios and try to deliver good balls.”

“See, nowadays cricket is really different, now 250-260 is made in every second match, earlier 250 was a rare thing,” said Siraj after RCB overhauled 201-run target set by Gujarat Titans in 16 over.

There is no help for bowlers, there is smaller grounds and flat wickets, there is no swing in the ball, so lots of changes. Bowlers can just keep playing and keep getting hit,” he stated.

As a bowler, you have to keep the self-belief. I have seen lots of ups and downs in life, so I don’t give up if 1-2 matches don’t go my way. I look for a comeback,” he added.

After one month, there is the World Cup… so I tell myself that if I get hit on a good ball, it is fine but I need to keep bowling less bad balls. I have not really bowled too badly this IPL, now 40 runs is normal in T20 cricket,” he concluded.
