Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) lightning speedster Avesh Khan delivered one of the finest performances with the ball in hand against Delhi Capitals (DC). Avesh Khan successfully defended 17 runs in the last over against the dangerous Delhi Capitals (DC) and gave away only 4 runs and had a remarkable game against DC when he conceded 29 runs in his 4 over spell and took 1 scalp.

It won’t be wrong to say that RR skipper Sanju Samson has been marshalling the troops smartly and using the deadly spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal & Ravichandran Ashwin brilliantly. The duo conceded 49 runs in their 7 overs and took 2 wickets. RR now are placed at 3rd position on the points table with 4 points from 2 matches and with an NRR (net run rate) of +0.800.

The peculiarity of RR is that they have got a good combination of Indian & overseas players which makes them a dynamic unit and can thrive on any surface. The decision to make the pacer Sandeep Sharma as the death over specialist actually has done wonders for the team as we all witnessed against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) that how he snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. RR though can’t afford to get complacent and go overboard as their next match is against MI on 01st April at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

How well Avesh Khan is bowling- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his You Tube channel. Aakash Chopra pointed out that Avesh Khan conceded only 4 runs in the last over against Delhi Capitals (DC) when the side needed 17 runs to win and said that it was the difference in the end. Aakash Chopra stated that it wasn’t just the last over of Avesh Khan as earlier he took the huge scalp of David Warner.

“I am slightly 50-50 about the second performer I want to choose. Who should I go with because Mitchell Marsh and David Warner scored runs, and then Tristan Stubbs in the end? However, since Rajasthan won this match, let me go with Avesh Khan. How well he is bowling. It’s been two successive games,” said Aakash Chopra.

“He gave only four runs in the last over. 17 runs were required for a win and he had 16 to defend and he gave only four runs in the final over. Imagine, Avesh gave four and Nortje gave 25. It wasn’t just the last over. Before that also, whenever he bowled, first dismissed David Warner and bowled at the right spot,” he added.

Ravichandran Ashwin came in as a pinch hitter and scored crucial runs- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was quite confused regarding the third performer and said that Nandre Burger took the key wicket of Mitchell Marsh and Ricky Bhui. Aakash Chopra chose the sly leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal as the third performer of the match as he bowled 3 overs and conceded 19 runs and took massive wickets of Rishabh Pant & Abhishek Porel.

“The third performer – now again I am split. It could be Nandre Burger at the start. He first hit Mitchell Marsh’s stumps and got Ricky Bhui out with a bouncer. It could be Sandeep Sharma, who gave four singles after being hit for a six and a four off the first two balls of the 19th over,” said Aakash Chopra.

“Ravichandran Ashwin – he came in as a pinch-hitter and scored crucial runs and would have dismissed Tristan Stubbs had Trent Boult taken the catch. But I am going with Yuzi. He bowled three overs, conceded 19 runs, and picked up two wickets – Rishabh Pant and Abhishek Porel. He dismissed two left-handers and could have bowled the fourth over as well,” he added.
